Many people understand network cables as long as they can be plugged in and used. Although fiber optics have reached 70% popularity nationwide, this does not mean that network cables have no advantages. There are still many home businesses using network cables. So, in the current diverse market, how should we distinguish the quality of network cables?
Check the network cable sheath mark
whether the network cable sheath mark indicates compliance with ISO/TIA, PVC/LSZH, CM/CMR/CMP, etc.
Usually, the words ISO/TIA, PVC/LSZH, and CM/CMR/CMP will be marked on the outer sheath of good-quality network cables. ISO/TIA refers to two international standards for network cable performance. The ISO standard indicates that the network cable follows the international integrated wiring standard. The TIA standard indicates that the network cable follows the international wiring standard. PVC/LSZH suggests the material of the network cable. Both have certain flame retardants, but the LSZH material is more flame retardant and environmentally friendly, and the price is relatively high; CM/CMR/CMP indicates the fire protection level of the network cable, of which the CMP/CMR fire protection level is mainly for engineering network cables. The CM fire protection level is mainly For ordinary network cables, the higher the fire protection level (CMP>CMR>CM), the more expensive the network cable is. If none of the above signs appear, it theoretically indicates that the network cable has poor material and fire resistance, and does not comply with international integrated cabling and wiring standards. Using this network cable will cause network obstacles or safety hazards.
Check the network cable parameters
to determine whether the conductor material is oxygen-free copper or the network rj45 connector is designed with 50μm gold plating.
Although network cables made of copper-plated, miscellaneous copper, copper-clad aluminum, copper-clad steel, copper-clad iron, and other conductor materials are cheaper than oxygen-free copper network cables, oxygen-free copper has extremely low oxygen content and no hydrogen embrittlement. It is not easily oxidized and has a long service life; it has high flexibility, good tensile strength, good elasticity, and is not easy to break when bent; at the same time, it has good conductivity and small signal attenuation, which can ensure that electrical equipment operates underrated power Work, the signal is transmitted stably and smoothly.
Currently, there are two types of gold-plated network rj45 connectors on the market: 30μm and 50μm. Although 30μm is cheaper than 50μm, the thicker the gold-plating of the network cable rj45 connector, the more resistant it is to plugging and unplugging (the more plug-and-pull times it can support). The longer the life, the better the transmission performance. Therefore, compared to the 30μm network rj45 connector, the 50μm network rj45 connector has better quality.
