Does a thicker flexible cable mean better quality?

Do industrial cable buyers think the thicker the flexible cable, the better it is? This may be the wrong way to certify the quality of flexible cables.

What is the quality of flexible cables? Many customers may use the size or weight of the cable to distinguish. A large outer diameter and a large net weight are good flexible cables, while a small outer diameter and a lightweight are low-quality flexible cables. It is generally believed that this is the simplest and most effective way to distinguish the quality of flexible cables!

But in fact, the independence of flexible cables requires that the cables have a small outer diameter under the condition of ensuring the performance of electrical equipment (the smaller the outer diameter of the cable, the lower the installation bending radius required)

The cable with a small outer diameter and the same electrical performance index requires a higher technical level of the manufacturer and more stringent requirements on materials. The small outer diameter is to select modified engineering plastics with better performance on the sheath/insulation layer, which is not easy to pass off inferior products as good ones on the wire. The two are fundamentally different.

When we choose the model and specifications of flexible cables, we should not only judge the cables' quality by the cables' thickness but also consider the actual application environment and performance parameters of the cables. If we want to buy high-quality flexible cables, we should also choose according to the specific working conditions.

We are a manufacturer specializing in flexible cables, drag chain cables, drag chain network cables, and industrial cables. We can send you sample cables. Welcome to discuss this in detail!
